You can view and resolve holds through their student portal, or alternatively through the Degree Planner (under the registration tab).

**These holds only apply to the PWOL BYU-Idaho student population. For Ensign College students please see OD - Ensign College Holds articles. **

Information
Holds often keep Online Degree and Certificates and Degrees students from being able to register for classes. There are two different types of Holds that can be placed on your account (Advisory and Absolute).

Advisory Holds will not prevent you from being able to register for courses, the hold is intended to make you aware of important information and actions that you are recommended to take.

Absolute holds will prevent you from being able to register.

You should follow the instructions listed in the hold description in order to remove the hold. If you need further assistance lifting the hold please fill out this ticket
Information
There have been some cases where you are required to meet certain obligations through the Advising Department, and this is a way we can track you during this situation.

The Plan for Success hold invites you to set up an Advising appointment.
Information
As an Online student, beginning Spring Semester 2019 you are required to renew your ecclesiastical endorsement each year during Spring Semester. You will also see an endorsement hold placed on your account that must be resolved before registering for future classes. If there are multiple continuing endorsement holds throughout the future year, they will be cleared once you complete one of the continuing endorsement holds.

NOTE: If you are a student in Nepal or Pakistan whose leaders can’t interact with the current endorsement system, we have been given the following information to resolve the holds for now:
  • The following information needs to be provided via email:
    • Bishop or Branch President's name
    • Unit #
    • Student's name
    • ID # (this needs to be an Idaho number, found in the student portal)
  • If you are currently taking a certificate through BYUI they will need to send this info to the Student Honors Office:
    • Email: sho@byui.edu (this email should only be used for students in Nepal or Pakistan whose leaders can't interact with the current endorsement system).
For Continuing Ecclesiastical Endorsements you will need to work with LDS leadership and this email needs to come directly from your priesthood leader and not from you, the studentIn your applicant endorsement, your first interview can be with your own clergy if you desire, however, that is not currently the case for continuing endorsements.

If you are a student whose leaders can work through the current system, they should do so. If you have questions about the process, you can reach out to the honor office directly with the Partner Schools to get assistance.

A continuing endorsement is different than the initial ecclesiastical endorsement. Even if you were just accepted, you will need to complete the continuing endorsement every spring.

Continuing Ecclesiastical Endorsement Holds are placed on your student account on the 14th day after the spring semester starts.

For more information please view the Ecclesiastical Endorsement page at this link: Ecclesiastical Endorsements
