Some Canvas or login issues can be solved by doing one of the following:
  • Switching web browsers (Firefox or Chrome are the recommended browsers)
  • Clearing cookies and history. See this tutorial for instructions: Clear Cache & Cookies
  • Remove/Disable pop-up blockers
  • Accessing Canvas by going directly to Accessing Canvas
  • Use a laptop or desktop computer. Tablets, Chromebooks, and iPads often don't have the plug-ins or system requirements to run all the functions that I-Learn courses need
  • Make sure that any internet filters on the student's home are turned off for Canvas so that the student can download assignments
  • The student should contact instructor to see if he/she limited access to assignments or have not posted them yet or is having issues with the textbook
  • If the student is still having issues, contact Course Support for technical help
  • Make sure they are logged in to byupathway.org or path.byupathway.org (many people try logging in through byui.edu)

403 ERROR:
If you are receiving a 403 error when trying to access your classes, please contact the Flobal Service Department (GSD)
-When you contact the GSD, use the phrase "Ensign 403 error" right away, to help the GSD identify and route the issue accordingly.

Helpful Information for 403 Errors:
A.) KB0061992: Students should provide this code to help the GSD agent find the exact reference of how to help them.
B.) You will need to be prepared with the following information that the GSD will need to collect:
  1. The MRN (Membership Record Number), or church log-in information if you do not have a MRN
  2. Ensign email address
  3. Answers to security questions (What is your mother's maiden name, etc.)
C.) The GSD has asked that you please try logging into your church account before contacting them. If you can successfully log into your church account, you should let the GSD know this information when you connect with them.
NOTE: Please know that this step won’t resolve the 403 error, but it will help the GSD quickly identify that the error is a linking issue and not something else and that will help save time.

For domestic students, there is a different number

For International students, or if the number above does not work, please use this Global Services Department (churchofjesuschrist.org) link to identify which toll-free number should be provided based on your location (you must log in to your church account).

It is always recommended that you CALL the GSD if possible. However, if you cannot call, you may email the GSD at the following: globalservices@churchofjesuschrist.org

Alternatively, the following email may also be used: churchaccountsupport@churchofjesuschrist.org
